About This Item

1865 1st ed Confederate General John Morgan Raid Civil War Ohio CSA Senour

John Hunt Morgan was a Confederate general during the Civil War best known for his infamous raid in Ohio in which he disregarded orders and suffered serious losses. While he intended to confuse and disrupt Union forces, his execution of plans significantly derailed the Confederate push.

Reverend author Faunt Senour wrote a biographical sketch of the life and military career of Morgan. Nevins notes that this work is "largely of Morgan's 1863 raid".
