GROUP OF FIVE ENGRAVED MAPS from the atlas of the Society for Diffusion of Useful Knowledge, each map approximately 12 x 15 1/2 inches on sheets 13 1/2 x 16 inches. Light toning to paper, page number neatly written in ink at lower right edge of each map, very good condition. Very interesting grouping of five maps covering the sweep of Northern Africa, finely engraved with great detail. The legend shows notations for aqueducts, fountains, rivers, wells, mountains etc. "The principal Tribes are expressed in Roman Characters. There are no real roads, the lines indicate the usual tracks." The first map has an inset detail "Plan of the City of Marocco" with a long listing of "Moskes." .
