About This Item

Newton Abbott, Devon, UK: David & Charles, 1975. Oversized hardcover with dust jacket, 471 pages including many black-and-white illustrations; laid in is a rare and valuable postcard of the "S. S. Columbia" from about 1900/10; hardly a trace of shelf wear to covers, rubber stamp of previous owner's name/address to bottom edge and dedication page where we also find the signature/date of same previous Portuguese-Canadian owner (a ship model maker and published ship historian, book acquired from his estate), a few scattered pencil markings, book otherwise very clean and unmarked; DJ has one short tear at bottom back spine hinge. [this copy priced low, priced to go to a good home as bookseller is nearing retirement, but extra S & H at cost will be requested] See also our listimgs for Meil Mccart's Atlantic Liners of the Cunard Line: From 1884 to the Present Day, and for Arnold Hague's Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945 : A History of the Rescue Service, its ships and their Crews, and just in, the extremely scarce Samuel Cunard, Bicentennial 1787 - 1987. . First Thus. Hard Cover. Very Good +/Very Good.
