Includes discussion on local perspectives, building industrial fractions and colonization, the women's liberation movement, the ILWU, women in local industry, and a number of contributions on the SWP's role in fighting the Briggs Initiative to ban gays & lesbians from teaching in California, including a history of the anti-Briggs movement and the SWP's intervention in local gay/lesbian movements.
