Volume I is number 733 of 1000 copies inscribed by the author. Volume II is number 327 of 500 copies signed by the author.

A lovely true first printing in near-fine condition throughout. Looks terrific with the new mylar cover I added to the dust jacket. Extremely scarce signed. New York: Frederick A. Stokes, 1925. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. Presentation copy, inscribed and dated in the year of publication by Wendell Endicott on the front flyleaf. An avid sportsman, Endicott (1880-1954) attended Harvard University (1899-1901) and served as a director of Sears, Roebuck and Company in Chicago during the 1920s and '30s. This book includes his reminiscences of battling the "Silver King" (Atlantic tarpon) and other game fish along the Florida Keys, as well as a selection of fishing facts and suggestions. Octavo: 273 p. with 80 illustrations from photographs by the author. Original dark green cloth-covered boards over a light green spine, with gilt stamping. Just a hint of foxing to the prefatory and concluding pages, with some faint evidence of moisture along the top edge of the last three dozen pages. Tiny period bookseller's label to the front flyleaf. The spine is a touch faded, with some rubbing to the corners and tips; else about very good.

Houghton Mifflin, 1972. 1st Ed. hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8x6x0. An extraordinary first printing with full numberline in amazing condition for a 50 year old book! Interior is pristine, book feels unread. Only mild blemishes on the boards, somewhat more on the dust jacket but still exceptionally attractive with a new mylar cover. No dust jacket as issued or missing. Sewn binding. Boards and spine are green cloth, lettering is gilt on spine and front. Back cover has slightly bent corners, some edge wear and minor marks from adjacent book on shelf, but no rips or stains. Spine has some edge wear all four sides but no rips, is clean and quite bright, has a few small creases top and bottom. Front cover is same as back cover with a few marks from what looks like black sealing wax. Page edges are tinted, as issued, slightly sunned. Binding is a bit loose. Inside front and back covers have a bit of age darkening, also ink stamp “Property of the B.C. Mountaineering Club”. On ffep is attached the Rules of the B.C. This is a hand colored engraving on high quality watermarked paper dated 1815 and made by W.Balston & Co. It is a beautiful decorative antique print expertly colored and beautifully composed. Curtis' work was the first study of British flora, and artists contributing to the opus included James Sowerby, Sydenham Teak Edwards, Francis Sansom and William Kilburn. This particular plate is quite bright and clean. The background paper color is lighter than my camera is portraying it, and is slightly off-white.
