With a frontispiece to each volume. Robert Riviere was an EnglishBookbinder known for his attractive decorative bindings and high quality. Jane Austen was an English novelist, known as one of the key figures in the English canon. She is known primarily for her novels which were set amongst the landed gentry at the end of the 18th century. Her novels are frequently adapted to film and television, and she is still widely read and beloved today. This is a charming set for any collector. Condition: In half calf bindings by Riviere and Son. Externally, very smart with some light shelfwear. Gilt detailing to the spines and marbled endpapers. Slight chip to the spine of Pride and Prejudice. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean aside from the occasional spots. Overall: NEAR FINE..
