London: Pickering and Chatto, 2003. First edition thus. Cloth. Very Good. Twelve uniform clothbound volumes containing the novels and selected works of Maria Edgeworth, the Irish woman writer (1768 - 1849) known for her Anglo-Irish or "Big House" writing between the time of Swift but before Yeats. Edited by Elizabeth Eger, Cliona O'Gallchoir, Marilyn Butler and others. Butler also supplies the general introduction in Volume One. Blue-green cloth covers lettered in gilt at spine with black and gilt accents. Light cover wear with some scuffing to covers on a few volumes. Quite nice overall. Issued without dustwrappers. Complete twelve volume set. Although recent in vintage, full sets seem to be uncommon in commerce. Postage quoted at cost.
