About This Item

Edinburgh: Southside, 1976. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo. Scottish Gaelic and English, facing translations. Includes poetry by Sorley Maclean, George Campbell Hay, Iain Crichton Smith, Derick Thomson, and Donald MacAulay. Green cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. 220 p.p. Light bumping to spine ends and sunning to top edge. Dust jacket lightly bumped to extremities. Although the number of Gaelic speakers has declined during the twentieth century, the last forty years have seen an astonishing flowering of Scottish Gaelic poetry. This bilingual anthology provides a selection of the best work of the poets who have contributed most to that revival.
