Contemporary full calf, original spine relaid, vestiges of original gilt edge dentelles. Slightly scuffed and marked, corners bumped. Light marginal browning to first two and last three pages, due to transference from binding overlay. Short closed tear to stub and intersections of folds to large plate 5. Plate 6 protruding edge browned, with light marking to verso. Occasional light marginal pencil.

Provenance: "Richard Davies Colva His Book 1890" Signed to ffep and rfep, possibly by two different hands (father and son). (Colva, Radnorshire. Richard Davies of Llanhailo, Colva mentioned in The Hereford Times 29 May 1858 and in the Brecon County Times 1919 "Mr and Mrs Richard Davies, of Colva, as usual made their house open to all"). Llanhaylow, the late-mediaeval cruck-framed hall-house was demolished around 1980. It was originally Llwyn Hoedliw, of Lewis Glyn Cothi's poem of 1837.
