New York: Printed by J. C. Spear, 1823. First Edition. Wraps. Good. Wraps. 40 pages. Disbound wraps. Original blue printed wraps removed. Title page number 1. Light toning to contents. Contents consist of 8 essays addressed to the "Gentlemen of the Board of Health by an Old Citizen"; and a short medical extract authored by Dr. Charles Maclean of Calcutta. Scattered marginalia in the hand of Benjamin Romaine throughout text. At the bottom of the preface page the author states; "Note. When the following numbers were about to be put in pamphlet form, - to abridge them became desirable. I regret to have frequently omitted, that which is now seem to be necessary both to connection and fact. - In this revised copy, a few of the omissions have been added. The pamphlet as originally written would have been about sixty pages." Wraps have been trimmed resulting in slight loss of some of the hand written content in the margins.
