Roth, pp. 148-49: "Observations is the culmination of a creative collaboration between Richard Avedon and Alexey Brodovitch [the magazine editor]. ... Capote, who wrote his arch text between Breakfast at Tiffany's and In Cold Blood, is most valuable here for conveying Avedon's words, notably the photographer's observations on the beauty of age." Also see Hasselblad 178 and Auer 386. Condition of this book: Very good with loss of color on the covers, probably because of rubbing against the slipcase.
