First edition of this profusely illustrated monograph containing systematic description and comparative historical-ethnographical study of the clothes of the peoples of Dagestan. The illustrations show women's and men's dresses, overcoats (many fur-coats), shoes, boots, capes, shawls, caps, bags and belts, partly with cuts and most of them made of multi-colour textiles and richly ornamented with traditional patters. Besides also jewellery, tools like weaving-looms and scissors as well as weapons are displayed. - Cover at edges and corners slightly worn, otherwise clean copy of this hard to find, profound and nicely illustraded coverage.
