Hardcover. 12mo ; Ornate 3/4 brown leather gilt, mottled boards, marbled end-papers, top edge gilt, ribbons, 22 volumes, apparently only lacking Les Miserables to be complete. **With an inscription presenting it to a named American officer in memory of the coming of the great American army for the deliverence of France in 1944. The inscription is in French with a translation by the recipient below. .
