Pub By Author. Good. 1900. First Edition. Hardcover. Original full red cloth, stamped in gilt to the front and spine. Illustrated with 8 of 9 full-page black and white photographs. Missing the frontispiece photo along with the endpaper. Many other figures in the text. The large folding map at the rear is in facsimile. Staining to the front cover, primarily to the left half and to the upper edge. Staining along the spine at the rear edge and to the upper spine. Discoloration along the lower, rear cloth. Wear with some fraying to the spine ends and corners. Corners are bumped with the boards showing. The upper corners are bumped hard. Hinges show some cracking. Some staining to the lower page edges, affecting the first 60 pages. A fair-good copy only. ; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 495 pages .
