New York: Charles Scribner's Sons. 1883. First Edition; Later Printing. VG- with light rubbing to cloth extremities, heel of spines have a thin line of white paint at edges, flyleaf of vol. II has a small hole where something was adhered, and endpapers of vol. I have a small dampstain to bottom edge. The text is evenly toned but very clean, and the bindings are solid. Owner signatures on endpapers. ; 12mo. , 2 vols. , original blue cloth with gilt lettering, 1-145; 1-155 plus ads in each volume. Frontispieces, top edges gilt, others uncut. Each volume is a presentation copy inscribed by the author to Cousin Mary, dated 1883. .
