1st Edition Hardcover in Green Boards with pastedown photo of 3-mast ship in heavy seas below title in white lettering. "Compiled and Published for the Benefit of the Marblehead Historical Society by Benjamin J. Lindsey, Treasurer." Previous owners name on FEP Tight binding Unmarked text. Laid in is an article "too late to be printed in the book" about the sinking of the "Tejuca" and the saving of the crew by Wm. D. Gregory who is sited on page 68. Also loosely tucked in to the book is a note regarding Captain Brown of the "Rattler" who is the Mr. Brown mentioned in Dana's "Two Years Before The Mast", as Mate of the "Alert". There is penciled in on page 135 a note stating that Joh & Thomas Wooldrege are brothers.
