[iv], (22) pp. Headpieces, Eric Gill floriated initial, text printed in black and red; text clean, unmarked. Beige cloth spine, paper spine label, blue-green paper over boards with a lovely rose illustration stamped in black on front cover, blue all-rag Urabec Hoffman handmade end-papers; binding square and tight, extremities lightly toned. SIGNED by John Urabec on colophon. Very Good. LIMITED EDITION of "about" 50 copies, privately printed by Richard Hoffman and John Urabec with Linotype Granjon and Ludlow Garamond for display, on dampened Urabec-Hoffman all-rag hand-made paper, for distribution to friends. Contains Thomas Hardy's short story written about 1888-90 and probably intended to be included either in the volume entitled "Life's Little Ironies," or "Wessex Tales;" this story was a life-long favorite of John Urabec. Thomas Hardy was an English writer known especially for his poems. "This book is truly a jewel of letterpress printing and classic design." Petko.
