NY: Century Co.. Good+ in Good dust jacket. [1925]. First Edition. Hardcover. Lightly worn book, dust jacket is worn at edges with a quarter inch circular stain on spine. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; [5], 207p., 4 inserted plates. **BAL #2296. Bannister #8.1: Binding is state a, cloth being one of 200 copies with stamped presentation inscription "To the members and guests of The Women's National Book Association At their annual dinner Hotel McAlpin, Thursday Evening, March 5, 1925, Compliments of The Century Co." The spine of the dust jacket bears their device. All 1925 copies we have have the perfect r in over on page 42, line 21. ***In my personal collection I have copies with states of the dust jackets. A: WNBA copy with device on spine, cloth and gift leather bindings listed in two lines on front flap, review of Hangman's House on rear panel. B: Inscribed presentation copy dated Winter 1925, front flap (and rear panel) only lists the cloth binding, rear panel has review of Blind Raftery. C: Publisher's leather binding, cloth and leather copies listed on single line on front flap and rear panel, and review of Blind Raftery on rear panel. All three copies have a perfect "r" in line 12 oin page 41. I also have another first edition in the Appleton-Centyr blue cloth with green leathering. This copy has the broken "r." .
