This is an excellent, collectible copy of the renowned "scholar's edition", edited by Harrison Hayford and finally released by Hendricks House (an eclectic publisher of Thoreau and others) in 1969.  Hayford's inscription, "to a fellow book rat" presages the lively Editor's Preface to his new version of Melville's second book.
