About This Item

[New York]: Random House, [1969]., 1969. First edition. First edition. Author's first book. Light wear and sunning to top and bottom of spine with eraser mark to front free endpaper else fine in dust jacket with light wear to head and tail of spine. In 1962, Sergeant Krummel arrives from the States to take over a crew of rebellious enlistees. One to Count Cadence is a mirror of a generation reared on violence, actors in the American wars of the 1960's who no longer believe in the myths of their country. It is least of all a war novel, but a book about friendship and survival. Author's scarce first book.
