Text is Latin except for PART III in Greek. PART I: (ii b) , (xviii) , 148pp; Illustrations of games, triumphs, and circuses at Rome, Pompeii and Constantinople, mainly based on Roman coins and sculpture. 24 double-page plates with one 4-page fold-out, 7 other fold-out plates & numerous decorative vignettes. PART II (Argoli) : (xii) , pp 1-94. PART III (Pinellus: Additamentum in Quo Graeca) : pp 95-125. PART IV (Maderi: In Onuphrii Panvinii De Triumpho) : pp 136-147; text is decorated with 22 circular or square framed illustrations (mainly coins). Covers are lightly soiled. Vellum on bottom of rear cover has loosened a bit. Interior of text Is clean. Endpapers have a few wrinkles. Plates are in VG condition without tears. Top corner torn off p.67. This book Is from the estate of the descendants of noted American impressionist J Alden Weir. Roman Sports, Games ; Folio 13" - 23" tall; 147 pages .
