Oos West Tuis Best : Distrik Ses

by Small, Adam

Condition: Very Good/Good

Human & Rousseau, Kaapstad / Pretoria, 1973. Limited. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Jansen, Chris. Signed. Complete. In Afrikaans throughout. Hand-numbered 148 of a limited edition of 1250 copies. Inscribed and signed by Chris Jansen on the first free page (dated: Dec 1976). Signed by both Adam Small and Chris Jansen on the last page - as part of the certification. A comfortable copy of this most evocative book of poems by Small, and photographic studies of District Six by Chris Jansen. The dustjacket is mild-mannered. It has scuffing, wear and creasing about the edges and seams. It is comfortable and secure. The black cloth covered boards are steady, healthy and sound. Within, the early pages have residue marks from scotch tape, storage and age marks. They are otherwise placid and benign. The contents are otherwise comfortable, direct, at times moving, at times astonishing, always personal. They are clean, clear, generous of and in spirit. All most gratifying. fk
