Limited First Edition; 4 Parts; Lge. 4to; Part 1: pp. xxv, (56) un-paginated; 24 colour plates; Part 2: pp. (52) un-paginated; 24 colour plates; Part 3: pp. (64) un-paginated; 24 colour plates; Part 3: pp. (52) un-paginated; 24 colour plates; original stiff wrappers; wrappers a little worn small dent to plates 74, 75 , 76, otherwise a very good complete set. Limited edition of 1030 sets, 1000 of which are for sale. This copy is number 418. The author died in March 1951 just as his masterly work had reached the printing stage, the publication was continued posthumously. These original set have become extremely scarce.

This was reprinted in 1969. Set number 428 of limited edition of 1030. Sml. folio, xxv, 96 plates with explanatory text, 1st edition, published in 4 parts, all published. Brown morocco quarter leather with gilt title & device on spine, linen boards. Cloth a bit marked, lower spine bumped o/w a nice copy.
