New York: Harper & Row, Publishers, 1968. First edition, as stated. Hardcover. Good/No jacket. 315 pages with index, illustrated with black and white photo plate section. From a series entitled The Rise of Modern Europe, stressing social, economic, religious, scientific and artistic development. Ex-library and library rebound in tan cloth with white titles on spine. Some wear to cover, especially at spine, spine a little cocked, spotting, light bumping of corners and spine ends, library numbers on spine, small stain on front fixed end paper, a little underlining of interior pages, light tanning, library stamp on title page and numbers on copyright page, small stains on page edges, binding tight.
