"Freshfields & Williams" handwritten at head of first page, crease down centre where it had been folded length-wise, handwritten on rear blank: "Hudsons Bay Company / Order in Council / 23rd June 1870 / Freshfields & Williams. "The law firm of Freshfields, reported to be the oldest International Law firm in the world dating back to 1743, were solicitors for The Bank of England (and still are), East India Company, and Hudson's Bay Company. Some underlining and a margin note. 2) 31.5 x 19.5 cm, pp. 11, pamphlet-stitched with green ribbon, printed at head of front page: "Copy of Order in Council./ Friday, June 24th, 1870. "Handwitten edit marks with corrections. 3) 33.5 x 21.5 cm, pp. 11, pamphlet-stitched with green ribbon into plain paper covers, printed at head of front page: "Copy of Order in Council./ Friday, June 24th, 1870," with some of the corrections made, crease down centre where it had been folded length-wise, handwritten on rear blank: "The Hudson's Bay Company / Order in Council / 24th June 1870 / Sir R Firlay K.C. / Freshfields," Robert Bannatyne Finlay, 1st Viscount Finlay, became Lord Chancellor of Great Britain, pencil ticks and some underlining.
