A non-descript personal inscription in black felt pen on half-title page, else textblock unmarked. Hone Tuwhare (1922-2008) was a noted New Zealand poet of Maori-Scottish ancestry. Long admired and noted for his poetry, he was also an activist for his people and his poems generally reflected an earthy, working-class background. Contents include: Prelims., Foreword, numerous poems commencing with: 'Time and the Child', and closing with "A Burnt Offering to your Greenstone Eyes, Tangaroa'.
