D.H. Souter (1862 -1935), popular Scottish artist who contributed weekly cartoons to the Bulletin magazine consistently for over forty years. Souter lived near Sydney's famous Bondi Beach. Watercolour on paper, girl with parasol and doll, 35.5 cm x 25.2 cm, signed and dated, 1908. Reverse in manuscript, pencil: 'How's this for a cover - Lone Hand' (with a few additional notes/directions relating to art direction). Beautiful original condition.
