Boston: Ticknor and Fields 1863, 1st edition, 1st state. (hardcover) 398p + advert. Good. 12mo. Brown cloth cloth boards, blindstamped in the distinctive manner of Ticknor and Fields. Lettering in gilt to spine. Boards a little rubbed, corners bumped, light chipping at head and heel of spine. Dampstaining to bottom corner of final 60 leaves, not at all affecting the text block. Overall, remains a handsome copy. Tight and clean. First state; "myterious" misprint on p.146. BAL 7626..
