Excellent and humourous ramble through American village life by the much forgotten but once hugely popular Clark, aka Max Adeler. This edition has almost 400 illustrations, many by A B Frost. Stock is a little toned, but otherwise all is in good internal order bar some spotting to endpapers. Signature of former owner, dated May 1882, to fep. Quarter leather binding with marbled paper-covered boards well worn to edges. 16mo. 398pp
