The author has also written a two-line quote from the text, beneath the portrait engraving (p.40), which is also signed and dated. Hand-bound by Smith Settle in half red calf, gilt, over marbled sides, red endpapers, top edge gilt, with matching leather-trimmed slipcase. Book and slipcase in fine/as new condition. A wonderful production; the first 65 copies (of 315) are accompanied by a set of signed engravings; copies 16-65 are printed letterpress on mould-made Somerset paper and bound in leather (copies from the higher limitation were bound in cloth). This book tells of the great fight between the bear kings, as chronicled in Northern Lights.
