Minor spot to extreme fore-edge of 3 leaves. A fine and bright copy with the original plain white dust jacket (spine darkened). An important narrative of an overland trek to Oregon from Tennessee. Also important as a woman's narrative detailing her impressions and attitudes on the trail and in homesteading. Richard Dillon's introduction is outstanding. This copy is complete with the often-lacking large folding Map of the State of Oregon and Washington Territory, by the Bureau of Topographical Engineers, 1859..
