Colourful illustrated cover and spine with black titling, colour frontispiece, colour illustration on title page and on table of contents pages, illustrated with six full-colour plates and eight photographs and half-tone plates, as well as many black and white illustrations, each page has black decorative border at top. 240 pages. Corners and edges worn, front cover has some rubbing and red smudges, text block edges darkened, remnant of tiny bookseller's plate on first end paper, first free end paper is missing, split between pate 8 and 9 - webbing is showing and binding is weakened, a piece of page 93 has been removed (2.5" by 4"), closed tear to plate page 121, bottom corner of rear pastedown is missing. Shipping charges are calculated for a standard parcel under 1 kg. Additional charges will apply for heavier shipments, but not until the customer agrees. Clean pages and illustrations with noticeable tanning and foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Hinges and gutters are moderately cracked with exposed netting. Binding is slightly loose. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Lettering is darkened. Moderate splits to spine ends and corners causing cloth to be frayed. Boards are bowed. Visible wear marks to boards.
