The first edition of this selection, and the first with these magnificent Reynolds Stone engravings. 4to. 94pp. One of 300 copies (out of a total edition of 350) designed by Will Carter, printed on Basingwerk parchment, bound in buckram and signed by Reynolds Stone. Stone contributes a title page decoration, five wood engraved plates and a small closing vignette; plus a small gilt decoration to upper board. Buckram just fractionally marked in one or two places, else a fine copy. No dust wrapper, as issued. Twenty-three poems (including the eleven-parter 'Flying Scrolls'), six of which are hitherto unprinted with several others making their first bookform appearance..

First Edition (first printing) of the author's second book. 8vo. 106pp. Black vertical weave cloth, lettered in gold at the spine and upper board with a blind-stamped border. Portrait frontispiece of the author (from a sketch by Wyndham Lewis). A hint of fading to the backstrip, and just a touch of bruising to the spine ends. Half-title spotted, with a touch of further very light spotting to the title page and two blank rear flyleaves. Very good indeed, albeit lacking the most uncommon dust wrapper. Sixty-eight poems by the noted author, publisher and political activist..

Rare first issue of this classic mimeo revolution magazine, includes a letter from Ed Dorn, plus writing by Duerden, Irby, Grenier, et al. Unmarked copy, back cover detached but present, faint staining and some general wear.

New York: Random House, 1969. First Edition, First Printing. INSCRIBED on a preliminary page by Clarence Major, one of the authors featured in this anthology: "to Bert / good luck! / Clarence Major." An anthology featuring works by 72 poets, most of them Black or people of color. Besides Major, poets include Julian Bond, Victor Hernández Cruz, David Henderson, Calvin Hernton, Marvin Jackman, Bob Kaufman, Ishmael Reed, Sonia Sanchez, and Gloria and Stephen Tropp. Lengthy prologue by the editor, Walter Lowenfels. (For the full list, please see the second photo.) Clarence Major (b. 1936), who inscribed this book, has written more than a dozen collections of poetry. He is a distinguished professor emeritus of 20th-century American literature at the University of California, Davis. This is a review copy, with the Random House notice laid in. Copies signed by any of the contributors are uncommon. An excellent anthology of mostly Black writing, with short bios of the poets. SCARCE SIGNED.

Boards now protected by a new Brodart Archival Mylar Cover. Boards are bright red with paper author and title labels on spine and front cover. Label on front is complete but spine label is chipped. Boards and pages are clean, unmarked, brightly colored, tightly bound and sharp cornered (except for very slight rubbing at board corners). Scarce, Out Of Print, Book. Evelyn Scott (1893–1963) was an American novelist, playwright and poet, who also wrote under the pseudonyms Ernest Souza and Elsie Dunn. This book "Precipitations" was her first book. .

INSCRIBED to the painter Jack Freeman by the author on the first interior page. One of an unknown but presumably microscopic number of copies of the self-published first edition of this pocket-sized poetic collection by a key figure in San Francisco's North Beach from the Beat era until his death a few years after this was issued. Just about as new (minor marks on cover appear to be printing artifact).

Nice copy of this mid-seventies issue of the classic San Francisco underground Beat magazine, includes a range of contributors. Unmarked copy with minor damp staining to top and left margin.

Beautiful as-new copy of the fourth issue of this groundbreaking literary and Kabbalistic magazine edited by David Meltzer. Includes Image of the Wall by Wallace Berman, a lengthy 1964 letter from Lenny Bruce to a judge, a number of Kabbalistic pieces from traditional authorities, and other material from writers associated with the Semina scene. Unmarked copy, as new.
