A Very Good, brown binding with gilt lettering and gilt illustration on front board and gilt lettering on spine, binding sturdy and intact, some handling/rub marks to boards, a bit of sunning to page margins, books are clean except for coffee stain on fore-edge and bottom fore-edge corner of Volume 1 though no impact on text itself, previous owner embossed stamp bottom title page and couple of pages with pencil notes, without Dust wrapper. A nice and clean set. 4to[quarto or approx. 9.5 x 12 inches], (Vol.1) 328pp., (Vol.2) 247pp., (Vol.3) 270pp., bibliography, indexed, b&w illustrations.
