London: Macmillan, 1972. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo. 318 p.p.Eight unnumbered pages B&W photographs, some B&W maps. Brown cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Rubbing to spine ends and corners. Dust jacket has some light wear to edges and corners. Pictorial map endpapers, bookplate to half title and ink ownership inscription to title page. This is the first definitive biography of the great nineteenth-century Arabian explorer and British diplomat Gifford Palgrave.
