Havana.: Cuban Tourist Commission.. 1947.. Black and white pictographic / pictorial map, 20 1/4 x 23 3/4 inches on sheet 21 3/4 x 28 inches, folding to 7 1/2 x 5 inches. One inch tear to upper edge, but overall very good, clean condition with a few soft creases from folding. This is described as the "First Edition in English" of a map by Ramiro E. Iglesias published in the 1930s. This first edition was frequently republished in the boom years of Cuba tourism under the title "Panoramic and Monumental Map of Havana." It is a decorative map with 159 "Principal Buildings and Places of Public Interest" identified and illustrated. Also marked are two airports and eight piers and five townships. While the later editions include only Morro Castle at the lower edge of the map, this edition features La Cabana Fortress on the further side of the canal. .
