About This Item

London: Joseph Robins, 1838. First edition. Hardcover. Very good. Oblong 8vo (5 by 6 inches, but extending to nearly 10 feet when opened). Green cloth boards printed in black and gilt, endpapers in non-pareil design. A very good copy showing only light wear, and protected in a custom clamshell case. This panorama consists of engravings entirely hand-colored, and shows every portion of the Royal and Civic Procession, as well as the whole line of streets from Temple Bar to Guildhall, with their decorations, booths of the City Companies, Christ's Hospital, etc. Each carriage is identified by a caption in the lower margin. Victoria became Queen in June of 1827. This grand procession was her first royal visit to the City of London.
