A VERY GOOD condition book in contemporary full calf slightly rubbed at extremities and with some minor wear to edges and surface of leather. In surprisingly supple condition. Collates thus: [blank] [engr title] [28] 1-544 [8] [blank] [engr title] [18] [blank] 1-78 [4] [blank] Does not include frontispiece, no sign of it having been bound in. Has antique inscription to inner front board. Also bears later neat inscription. Ownership stamp to free front endpaper "JOHN BROWN 1756", replicated on engraved title page depicting greyhound running. Engr. title is frayed at leading edge, not affecting text. Thereafter, the page block is solid, with occasional minor tide marks. 1 quire (commencing p145) has been pulled but remains integral to book. Small marginal wormholes from p 465 to end. In the second work bound in, Apocalypsis, are engravings of the heretics named in the work. In second work, pp11 to end are frayed at bottom leading edge. In all, this is a good, clean solid book - a great example of this scarce pair of titles.
