About This Item
(Alice: The Fort Hare University Press, 1951). Fort Hare Papers, Vol. 1, November, 1951, No. 6. 250 x 185 mm; printed card wrappers; pp. [303-396]; detailed line drawings of the species explored, with accompanying descriptive text. Lightly tanned and rubbed; occasional fox spot. Very good condition. Uncommon. Belated attention is being paid to neglected black contributors to southern African ornithology, the museum worker and collecting expedition member Saul Sithole being an outstanding example. C. N. C. Mokhele, a Basotho whose MSc thesis on parasites of the white-rumped swift is the basis of this publication, surely deserves similar recognition. .
