The plot revolves around a peasant man's desire to acquire land through marriage in order to restore the estate of his family. 4to, 218pp, half leather with marbled boards, spine with gilt decoration, black title labels, marble eps, teg. With original tan paper dj with red title on front. Spine slt rubbed head and foot, front inner hinge cracked. Dj spine chipped & sunned with water mark. Overall, a very good copy with a good+ dj.
