Paris, Oxford and Hull: Privately Printed, 1921. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Good. 4to. 98 pages. Hardcover bound in dark grey or black cloth, embossed to look like reptile skin. The binding is worn, and the spine ends are fraying and chipped. Corners bumped. A sound copy. Inscribed on the front flyleaf, "To Wilfrid and Gerald with best love and all good wishes from Jack. / Hull. Christmas 1921." Beneath this is written "(3)" in pencil (perhaps the third copy printed?). A simply produced book. Printed on rectos only with the verso blank. The type appears to be in blue or purple ink which nearly bleeds through in places on the verso, and it has the appearance of a self-typed production (or a copy of a self typed production). Typing corrections are evident, and these changes bleed through more boldly on the versos. Dedicated to Eileen. Typed on the dedication page is, "This copy is for Wilfrid and Gerald Gibson, Christmas 1921." The book was not actually officially published until 1947.
