London:: Methuen,, 1913.. First edition.. Hardcover. Very Good+. 372pp, +31 adverts. A novel. Contents clean and unmarked. In the original binding of green cloth, front titled and decorated in blind, spine in gilt. Small marks at base of upper board, otherwise clean. Spine ends crimped. Chapter I: 'The Ponsforts came of a queer-tempered, hot-blooded, domineering race. It was Melville Carlingford, that arch-cynic, who likened their highly-prized eccentricities to the dog-show exhibit whose very deformities ensure it distinction...' Very good copy.
