Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Unclipped jacket has heavy edgewear with areas of loss, heavy tears, chips, and creasing. Light tanning to spine and edges. Wear marks overall.

New York: The John Day Company, 1939. Nice copy of first printing. Unmarked, tight and square. Price intact jacket has chips at spine ends and circular scrape on front panel (less than 1" square and creasing. Book itself is quite nice. In mylar. . First American Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

New York: The World Publishing Company, March 1946. Stated First edition. Cloth. Very Good . This book is identified as the first printing for Tower Books in March of 1946. The book was first printed in 1939. This copy has a deep red cloth cover on both front and back, with noticable fading on the spine. The pages throughout the book have begun to yellow. There are no noted markings of any type on tne pages of this book, which is in great condtion otherwise. 302 pages. If not for the faded binding, the cover would be subperb.

Methuen & Co 1939. Octavo hardcover - gutter weak (VG-); all our specials have minimal description to keep listing them viable. They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition, but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. London, Methuen, 1939. Very Good. 8° Half-Leather. Year of printing estimated. Black half-leather tome with gold embossed back title and anchor as well as two crests on the front lid (see photos). Gilt edge on top. Only minor signs of use and shelf wear, overall a fine copy in a beautiful style.
