New York: H. Bittner and Company, 1947. First edition. Cloth. Good. Clothbound quarto. Artist monograph on this surrealist painter focused on his drawings. Edited and with text by Lincoln Kirstein. Includes 48 black and white plates. Covers soiled a bit about the edges of the cloth covers and with a bit of fraying at spine tips. Lacking the uncommon dustwrapper as often seen. This copy has been SIGNED by Tchelitchew on the front endpaper. A most uncommon signature. Also, laid in to this copy are several pieces of Tchelitchew-related ephemera from other exhibitions of his works over the years.
