Hardback large octavo, dustjacket, very good condition (in good dustjacket), black & white text-photos, endpaper maps, front cover jacket little faded (small piece missing top edge, reverse side marked & lightly foxed, some edgewear), edges foxed. Heavy, and extra postage may be requested to destinations outside Australia. 383 pp. Pedlar Palmer relates his many extraordinarily diverse adventures as a merchant seaman worldwide. He became an expert on Chinese trade. During World War 2 (WW2) he joined the Royal Navy, where he ran supplies to the besieged soldiers at Tobruk, and his experiences as a POW after his ship sunk in the Mediterranean. After the war, he was in much demand for relief work in China. No 29 in the Roebuck Society Publication series. (Errata section second last page.).
