A. & C. Black Ltd, London, 1923, part of PEEPS series. Hardcover, no jacket , viii, pp. 80, 19 cm high, decorative cloth elaborately blocked in black, large coloured illustration mounted on upper board, spine lettered with black blocking, 12 plates, 4 in colour (pastel), incidental in-text illustrations and musical snippets. Condition is Good as there is occasional foxing throughout (though not on plates, which are bright and attractive), and significant spotting on front edge ans preliminary pages, endpapers tanned, fading to spine, book itself is solid and square. An intriguing insight into England's rural culture, now arguably lost.
