Who were the peoples of the sea and when did they appear - the author contends they were Greek mercenaries and Persians and they started in the fourth century BC. This is in contrast to previous thought that they were a mysterious peoples and Philistines starting in the twelfth century BC. 261 pages with 14 pages of black and white illustrations. Book in very good condition ex library with stamp and sticker on front endpaper, stamps, reference and borrowing sleeves on back endpapers, and some reader wear to leading edge. Dust jacket in good+ condition in clear wrapper with stickers on spine and back, and small fold to flaps.
