London: Macmillan and Co., 1869. 1st Edition . Fine. 4.5 x 6.75 inches (12 x 17 cm). Full blue morocco binding by Bayntun-Riviere of Bath (binder's name in gilt to front turn-in). Spine has five raised bands, gilt ruled panels, gilt lettering, date to foot of spine. Single gilt fillet border to boards. Gilt decorated board edges. Gilt fillet turn ins with fleurons to corners, hand marbled endpapers, all page edges gilt. Original covers bound in to the rear of the book. Inscription to half title page (dated May 1869). Fine condition throughout. The first issue of the first edition with no mention of Alice to the title page. A first class example in a binding of the very highest order. Overall condition is Fine. International postage will be less than the stated rate. Actual costs are Europe £11.60; Oceania £15.80; Rest of World £15.15. A postage refund will be made after the order has been placed.
