London: Routledge & Kegan Paul (1976), 1976. Later printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good+. 8vo. [4], v-xxi, [3], 3-466 pp. Bound in red cloth with gold lettering on the spine. Translated by Colin Smith with revisions supplied by Forrest Williams. First published in English in 1962, this is the seventh printing of the English edition. Merleau-Ponty is generally regarded as the leading proponent of existentialism and phenomenology in France during the post-war period of the twentieth century (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy). An attractive copy of one of Merleau-Ponty's best known theoretical works. Near Fine book with traces of rubbing to the edges of the boards, bumps to the corners of the front board, and a previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown in a Very Good+ dust jacket with wrinkles to the corners of the front panel and some areas of minor discoloration to the spine panel.
