This book is an antique. It is in good condition considering it is over 100 years old. There is some wear to the cover and scuffing. The corners are also worn. Pages are tanning and spotted. There are some pencil markings inside the book.A summary of Catholic modernism by a Protestant, with a plea for it as the basis ... is found in Newman Smyth's Passing Protestantism and Coming Catholicism.

This book is in good condition. There is a considerable amount of wear on the front, back, spine and edges of the cover boards. There is a small ink stain on the front cover board and the lettering is fading on the front and spine of the cover boards. The corners of the cover boards are bumped significantly. One of the previous owners name is affixed on the inside of the front cover board and the other previous owners name is written on the front end page. The pages are yellowed and tanned and there are some markings and underlining. "Scholarship in this country for long clung to the traditional view of the Fourth Gospel, and we still lack in English a satisfactory commentary on the whole text written from the standpoint of the more moderate among recent continental commentators. Condition of the book is Very Good Plus. The binding is straight and sound. Inside pages are complete and unmarked.
Condition of the dust jacket is Good. The DJ is complete, not price clipped. It shows moderate chipping along the spine. The spine is also slightly sun darkened. That said, it displays well in a new mylar cover.
